Yellowfin tuna season in Bimini, Bahamas is April and May, so it’s just about time to begin planning a Gulfstream Boatclub fishing charter to Bimini from South Florida.
GBC can help you plan the ultimate day or overnight boat rental to this colorful destination.
If you leave for Bimini before the sun rises, you can even troll on the way out, fish all day, and come back by nightfall—it’s better to stay the night and enjoy the fishing, beaches, and all that Bimini offers. Continue reading “Bimini Dreaming”

Snook are one of the many reasons Florida is considered the “Fishing Capital of the World.” The snook is one of South Florida’s most popular inshore game fish; it’s a fierce fighter, but it’s also delicious.
Most anglers pronounce the name “snook” (like took), but in parts of South Florida, it is pronounced “snuke” (like fluke).
Located at the Boca Inlet, a nice cruise from GBC’s Delray location, Waterstone Resort & Marina offers guests and locals Boca’s only “on-the-water” dining experience.
Choose from two restaurant options: casual poolside dining at Waterstone Rum Bar & Grill; or Boca Landing Restaurant, an upscale “on-the water” dining experience, highlighting prime seafood and crafted cocktails.
Delray Beach’s public dock at 802 NE First Street can accommodate a few smaller boats and is easy walking distance from Atlantic Avenue’s shops and restaurants.
The dock is currently closed due to damage from last year’s king tides, but for the moment, these two restaurants are more than happy to accommodate you and your GBC boat.
Prime Catch is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and features fresh fish, lobster, seafood, and steak. With a wine cellar of more than 3,000 bottles, you’ll certainly find a wine (or two) with which to toast your fellow boaters!
We’re partial to Two Georges, as GBC’s Boynton location is adjacent to the restaurant. Take a fishing charter out in the morning and return to a fun and relaxing meal at this waterfront restaurant, lounge, and sports bar.
Just over the Blue Heron Bridge that leads to Singer Island, Sailfish Marina is a Florida favorite. On Thursdays, the restaurant attracts crowds along the nearby docks with live music, food, arts and crafts, and a beautiful view.
Leave from GBC’s Lantana location for a cruise up to Jupiter. The Jupiter Inlet Marina offers several slips for parking, and U-Tiki offers delicious food, a sushi menu, and memorable views of the Jupiter Lighthouse.
Boating is our passion. Make it yours. Call Gulfstream Boat Club at 561.865.7797 to schedule a boat; we’ll even make your dining reservation!
If you’re on the way to your GBC boat rental, a phone app is a great way to stay apprised of the latest weather.
The weather in South Florida is hyperlocal, and while it may seem like a great boating day from shore, it’s always a good idea to check the current and future weather conditions.
One minute it’s sunny, one minute it’s pouring rain:
Welcome to Florida boating.
Myradar.com is a popular weather radar app for iOS and Android that offers high-definition radar, weather alerts, weather forecasts, temperature, and more.
Knowwake is an app for iOS or Android that is a guide to wake restrictions.
Zones can change hourly, and Knowwake’s self-updating, color-coded maps help boaters stay within the speed limit. But it’s also a handy weather guide, with live webcams and information on weather, tides, and more.
There are many websites that offer weather and marine information, but here are some of our GBC captains’ favorites:
Palm Beach County provides web cameras at its three inlets as a public service. These cameras provide viewers with images of ocean and weather conditions along the coast at the inlets and adjacent beaches.
These “inlet cams” refresh every 15 minutes, giving you as accurate a picture of current ocean conditions as is possible.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) [http://www.noaa.gov/] offers a local marine forecast, which is a helpful guide to whether waters are rough or calm, or if there is small craft advisory, rip currents, etc.
Here’s the Miami / South Florida Weather Forecast Office.
Windfinder is a free-to-use weather website for boat captains, sailors, kitesurfers, windsurfers, surfers, paragliders and other wind-related activities.
Find wind, waves, weather, webcams and tides for more than 40,000 locations worldwide.
Here’s the Delray/Lake Ida page. Windfinder also offers an app for iOS and Android.
Wunderground (Weather Underground) is a great one-stop website for weather, with accurate radar and up-to-date advisories.
Whichever weather website or app you choose, remember that conditions can change quickly.
Any boater that navigates through Palm Beach County’s inlets and into open water does so at his or her own risk.
Safety is Gulfstream Boat Club’s number-one priority, and we are checking conditions constantly. If you have questions about how weather could affect your day on the water, please call us anytime at 561.865.7797!
Welcome to South Florida, home to some of the country’s best cruising waters, fishing spots, waterfront restaurants, and sunsets.
Whether you have in mind a morning fishing excursion, a family waterski adventure, or cocktails after dark, GBC can design the perfect outing for you.
Here are some of our most popular excursions:
Deep Sea Fishing
Let one of our licensed captains take you on a morning or afternoon adventure out of the Boynton Beach Inlet for some deep sea fishing. Your captain will have the boat rigged (fishing poles and bait included) and ready to go for an exciting trip out to sea—or the Intracoastal Waterway, if you prefer not to go offshore. Your captain has been fishing these waters for year’s, and will tailor the trip to your preferences.
Like big game fishing?
Delicious wahoo for sushi or even mahi mahi (dolphin) fishing is popular.
Would you like a new mount for your family room wall? We’ve got jumping sailfish out here, too! Our younger boaters love to bottom-fish for yummy snapper or grouper.
Your captain will filet your catch for you right at the dock—most of our local restaurants will cook it up for you!
We’ll provide ice and bottled waters, and there is a small cabin with a bathroom and plenty of shade, so it’s fun for the whole family. You’ll meet your GBC captain at waterside dining spot Two Georges Restaurant and Marina, so guests often enjoy a meal before or after their excursion.
Sightsee and Snorkel
Cruise north on the Intracoastal Waterway towards historical Palm Beach and popular boating spot Peanut Island. During your cruise, your captain will point out some of the country’s most beautiful mansions—see if you can recognize which celebrity lives there!
If conditions permit, your captain will then head out of the Palm Beach Inlet to snorkel in front of the Breakers Hotel, where you can easily enjoy the bright corals and friendly tropical fish.
If the seas are too rough, the captain will take you to snorkel at Peanut Island, where the waters are as blue as that of the Bahamian Islands.
Pack a lunch or ask about our catered lunch to enjoy a great picnic on the boat! No need to worry about the snorkel equipment— we’ll provide the gear, as well as ice and bottled water.
Leisure Cruise and Waterfront Lunch
Heading south on the Intracoastal Waterway is a perfect outing for those who like to keep things at a slower pace.
Sit back and relax with a cocktail in hand and enjoy the views.
You may even spot a few of our Florida Natives—birds, manatees, and other wildlife—along the way! We’ll stop for lunch so you can enjoy a wonderful meal at one of GBC’s favorite waterfront restaurants. Our captain will make sure you get the best view in the house.
Sunset Cocktail and Bar Hopping
The ONLY way to see a sunset in South Florida is by boat! Join us for an evening cocktail cruise along the Intracoastal Waterway. Watch the skies change colors for one of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever witness.
The nightlife along the waterway is pretty lively, so once the sun has set, ask your captain to dock at one of our favorite local spots for a Margarita or Miami Vice, and even enjoy some live music.
The locals are friendly and your drinks will always be full, so you are guaranteed to enjoy yourselves to the fullest on this excursion! Guests can either BYOB, or GBC can supply beverages and catering on request.
GBC offers the newest and best fleet of boats in South Florida, and our licensed captains are experts on the water. Call GBC at 561.865.7797 to create a memorable outing of any length and size, and for any occasion.

Or take the whole family on one of the newest boats in the GBC fleet—our 27′ Southwind deck boat (seats 8 to 12 people, stereo, Bimini shade, head, coolers, and more)—farther north to Waterway Café or Seasons 52 in Palm Beach Gardens for a memorable Sunday outing. Dock the boat and enjoy a meal and have plenty of time to cruise back to Lantana.
Sailfish Marina is another popular docking spot, with a waterfront restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Take a GBC boat out for some early morning sportfishing and treat yourself to a meal afterwards to celebrate your catch.
